How much does it cost to maintain?

A water treatment system probably costs much less than you would expect over its lifetime. Obviously, there will be minor costs each year to maintain your treatment system which is dependent on the type of system you have. If you have a water softener unit in your home, you will need to periodically fill the unit with salt. You may have heard in the past that water softeners use multiple bags of salt per month, which could have incurred considerable costs.

That’s because older style water softeners were “salt hogs!” It was not uncommon to use three or four bags of salt, which costs $10 per bag, per month. Athe models that we currently install, our new Care Soft Pro models, are the most efficient water softeners on the market. Typically, they will use less than one bag of salt per month. We estimate that the salt usage for a typical home costs less than $100 per year.

If your home has a UV treatment system, you will need to replace the UV bulb every year which is around $100 as well. Additionally, you may choose to have us come out every year or two and perform a routine maintenance check on your system, which will cost $125 to ensure that everything is working as promised.

Overall, the cost to maintain is usually very manageable for most households and should not stand in the way of providing your family with the security of knowing you have safe water for your home every day.
